Katie Newman became a canine diet expert to save her Labrador, Hustler, from obesity. Unable to exercise because of severe hereditary joint issues, his weight had ballooned to 96 pounds.
An accomplished analyst and researcher, Katie made a life changing decision – to use her skills to create a nutritionally balanced diet that would satisfy her dog’s appetite and shed pounds. After extensive research, she formulated a unique and effective diet that provides not only healthy meals but also those essential treats dogs love.
In her book, The Amazing Treat Diet For Dogs: How I Saved My Dog From Obesity, Katie mixes heartfelt narrative with clear, straightforward instructions, to educate and inspire others to do the same for their dogs. The book includes principles for a healthy diet, guidelines for meal and treat servings and how to shape owner and pet habits into a process that is healthy, economical and easy. Extensive photography and detailed appendixes enhance and simplify comprehensive nutritional information.
Her passionate voice and dedication to conquering canine obesity has received industry attention. Immediately following her book release, Katie was a guest speaker at Pet Expo USA’s Holiday Pet Expos, and is scheduled to speak at upcoming 2012 and 2013 events, including the Vegas Pet Expo, Houston Pet Expo, Austin Pet Expo and SoCal Pet Expo.
